UMVFD celebrated success of its 3rd annual croaker tournament, hosted on the grounds of B.E.S.T. Boatyard. Cash prizes and plaques were awarded to the top five anglers based on time of submission and fish weight. Plaques were made by Sports Centre of Kilmarnock. Winners are as follows, First Place: Derrick Banks of Ashland, 2.38lb croaker, $750.00; Second Place: Marshall Bagby of Samos, 1.70lb croaker, $450.00; Third Place: Stephen Pierce of Locust Hill, 1.52 lb croaker, $350.00; Fourth Place: Mike Smith of Chester, 1.46lb croaker, $150.00; Fifth Place: Gay Banks of Ashland, 1.38lb croaker, $100.00. First Place Youth Prize was awarded to five-year old, Jordan Howard of Tappahannock, who snagged a 1.06lb croaker! Second Place Youth: two-year old, Addyson Lingor of Richmond, with a .52lb croaker, and Third Prize Youth: eleven year old Emily Walton of Mechanicsville with a .47lb croaker.
A SeaDoo Bombardier was also raffled off and the winning ticket belonged to Howard Howard of Essex. Second place cash prize of $100.00 went to Jennifer Murphy and $50.00 cash price went to Patricia Ellis of Waterview.
